Host teams show no mercy winning all games, including even overtime victory of Corinthians at home. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Uruguayan Defensor (0-1) recorded its first loss in Santiado del Estero on Friday night. Visitors were edged by leader Argentinian Quimsa (1-0) 78-76. Defensor cut a 17-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Defensor helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) fired 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. point guard Diego Figueredo (185-1991, agency: BIG) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Center Theo Metzger (200-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Quimsa went down to ninth position due to points difference, which they share with Corinthians. Defensor at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with Alvarado. Quimsa is looking forward to face Alvarado (#10) in Ambato in the next round. Defensor will play on the road against Corinthians in Sao Paulo and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Argentinian point guard Andres Lugli (188-1995) answered with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for Alvarado. Despite that victory Corinthians went down to ninth position due to points difference, which they share with Quimsa. Defending Ecuadorian champion Alvarado still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with Defensor. Corinthians - Alvarado 96-89 OT

Brazilian Corinthians (1-0) survived in overtime against Ecuadorian Alvarado (0-1) by seven points 96-89. The hosts were ahead by 9 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 21-18 run, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-5. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). His fellow American import guard Elyjah Clark (191-1998, college: MSSU) contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Corinthians players scored in double figures. Argentinian point guard Andres Lugli (188-1995) answered with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Elias Cave (201, college: Minot St.) added 23 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Alvarado.
